The HooBit Hybrid STL is the world’s first ever diving and swimming skirted trolling lure

Thank you Mr. Mikael Aikio, our engineer at TEBIS AB for completing the CAD-geometry. You did a fantastic job.

The Hybrid STL lure design was completed yesterday and delivered to our US manufacturers for validation and approval.

Thank you Mr. Niklas Steding, our long-time engineering consultant and 3D-specialist at the engineering firm Stedings Consulting AB.

To complete the internal geometry and design, particularly that of the ultrasonic welding joint, we received invaluable help from the Swedish company AGARIA AB, supplier of products and services fulfilling all needs regarding all types of plastic welding techniques.

Thank you AGARIA AB.

We have exciting times ahead of us.

We welcome fish artist Gavin Erwin, South Africa, to the team. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you.

Gavin will design the color patterns for the centerplate in the Hybrid skirted trolling lure.

He will also design the graphics for the clothing, apparel, stickers and merchandise.

Gavin will design the graphics for the lure package and the printed matter inside, as well as the stickers.

He wil design some more things that we will keep secret for a while.

Hybrid-Head injection molding tools

We are in talks with a manufacturer for the production of injection molding tools and manufacturing of the Polycarbonate shells.

We are also in talks with a master lure artist and manufacturer of hand made lures, that will hand paint and color the Hybrid-Head.

These are exciting times my friends.

FRED + HookMag = Winner!

Yesterday we tested out FRED type lure with the HookMag installed inside the belly. The four tiny magnets holds the giant 13/0 jig assist hook firmly in place, releasably retaining it in the Stinger position.

This was the first in a series of trolling tests that will reveal and confirm FRED’s exceptional diving capabilities. We use an Accurate 130 spooled with incredibly strong Izorline, on a Penn Intl II 130 lb stand-up rod, and a 400 pound wire leader

FRED stands for Fast Running Extremely Deep Diving lure. FRED has the world’s biggest lip and today is the only existing 10 inch lipped lure for Big Game offshore fishing.

Stay tuned for more developments.

Walking the ”dog” FRED….

Pulling our new monster sized lipped lure called FRED is like walking the dog.

It swims at 80-90 degrees straight down from the rod tip. It is stubborn and just stays deep deep down. It pulls you down and tests your strength. I love to walk the dog FRED (Fast Running Extremely Deep Diving lure).

This is a ”30 meters” lure!

Cheers!

Line and leader size affects how deep a lure can dive

Lessson of the day.

Thicker, heavier lines and leaders produce more drag, and therefore force lures to run shallower, as lures have to pull down the line too.

Tight lines!

”You’re gonna need a bigger rod”

Today I pulled the FRED (Fast Running Extremely Deep diving lure) from the jetty. I needed to know if the tow point was correctly positioned before proceeding to grind the underside of the lip to its final form.

I used a DAIWA Saltist 6500H with 58kg or 128lb test braided line, 200lb test sevenstrand wire leader and a 2-hand heavy spinning rod. And I really needed my two hands to pull the FRED thru the water, it is the world’s largest lipped lure and it is a hard puller.

FRED is a mega sized lure with an attitude and apetite for diving. FRED is a very strong swimmer and diver. Usually I only need to use one hand to pull my lures, but FRED is a different beast.

FRED is a monster, and a tremendous ego booster for everyone that lay their eyes and hands on it.

I expect performance to be beyond the extreme during future trolling tests.

Cheers,

George

FRED-X

Good Morning! We are currently working on the FRED, Fast Running Extremely Deep running lure. A lipped lure for wahoo and tuna. Some days deep running swimming lures trolled at 12-15 knots seem to work better than skirted trolling lures. But then, we have the HooBit STL, our new line of deep running swimming skirted trolling lures, in three different models. We plan to find out and film the depth going of all our lure designs, this will be done in the near future, using a team of divers. We will then display the results and videos on our website. Cheers, /George
